The Fred Perry brand is renown for the laurel wreath logo embellishing its polo shirts. Based on the original Wimbledon symbol, it appears on the left chest of Fred Perry Twin Tipped and one color shirts.

The brand is named after British tennis player, Frederick John "Fred" Perry, who won eight Grand Slams, two Pro Slams single, and six Major doubles titles. Fred and Tibby Wegner, an Australian football player, invented the wrist sweatband and then their signature white knit cotton pique shirt with short sleeves and buttoned placket.

Launched at Wimbledon in 1952, its success continued with the mods, a British subculture, and became the preferred garment for youthful men in the '60s, '70s, and into the present.
